Writing Prompt #8: Relationship to Place

path

Prompt: The more time we spend in a place, seeking to know it and be present in within it, the more fully connect to the world we become. Choose a park location that you will visit often with your journal. Perhaps you will sit near Fall Creek once a week for three months. Or perhaps you can return to your favorite trail-side bench once a month for a year. While there, slow down, be quiet, and observe. Write notes about what you see, hear, feel, wonder about. Let your observations help you see the web-of-life around you. Look for evidence of the history of the place, how the land has changed over time, how people have lived here, used this place, impacted it. Visit the park’s Visitor’s Center to learn more about this place. Write in your journal about your evolving relationship with this place.
